Fick Family 5KEvan and Anna's Story
Evan and Anna Fick met at South Dakota State University, where they both studied Mechanical Engineering and competed in cross country and track. After graduation, they married and welcomed two beautiful children.
In 2024, Evan was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent a leg amputation. With his lifelong passion for running, Evan worked through physical therapy and prosthetic training to get back on his feet.
In 2026, the Fick family received the heartbreaking news that Evan’s cancer had spread to his lungs.The Fick 5K was created to rally around this family and provide financial support as they navigate this incredibly difficult season.
